If the name doesn’t get you, the actual event will. St. John’s annual island dog show has been scheduled for Saturday, May 9 at the Winston Wells ball field from 5-9pm.
Admission is free, donations always appreciated. All proceeds from the event benefit St. John’s Animal Care Center, the Caribbean’s only no-killer animal shelter.
Stop by the shelter during the week from 10am-4pm to register, or sign-up at the event. Fun categories include Best Old Timer, Best Costume, Biggest Lap Dog, Best Trick, Best Fur/Haircut, Best Junior Handler, Best Puppy Love, and Most Look Alike.
The entire show is filled with smiles, laughter and love for our furry island friends. Food and refreshments, as well as vending tents and a bounce house will also be on the field. The show ends with a ceremonious crowning of the Waga King and Queen. But of course!
