The Marketplace shopping center on the outskirts of Cruz Bay towards the Westin makes the ultimate meeting place. Two parking lots (one on each level and each with ample spots) at a convenient retail center that sports Starfish Market grocery and liquor store, FirstBank with ATM, Papaya Café (a fabulous coffee shop and bookstore), Chelsea Drugstore, PostNet mail shop, St. John Hardware, Etta’s West Indian Cuisine, and other shops. Starfish Market is the islands largest grocery store, with a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables and all the familiar stateside brands. Starfish gourmet and wines is right across the aisle on the first level, where shoppers can pick up wine, cold beer, and a wide array of cheeses and even a picnic lunch to go. Starfish will even take orders online and you can just swing in and pick up your groceries on your way to your villa. Nice! It was great to see a new tenant replace the outdated Kaleidoscope Video that departed earlier this year. The new “Snorkel Spot” is the perfect addition to the center on the first level. Grab everything you need for a good beach day with easy parking. You can’t get that anywhere else in town, I’ll meet you at the Marketplace!
