In a month the island of St. John welcomes furry four-legged friends and their owners to the unique island dog show known as Wagapalooza. Saturday May 9th from 5pm to 9pm in Cruz Bay, island dogs will compete in such categories as Best Kisser, Best Tail, Best Costume and Most Look Alike, among others. The festive fundraiser is the biggest charitable event for the St. John Animal Care Center, the only animal shelter on-island – the only no-kill shelter in the Caribbean. With little to no government funding, the ACC is run by a lean group of paid staff and a generous helping of volunteers. The ACC even promotes the idea of “voluntourism” on their website, a great way to make your next vacation one that makes more than just you and your family smile. Don’t miss Wagapalooza St John 2015.
