To all the fortunate travelers planning a great trip to St.John, I created this site about six years ago due to
my love of the island. My goal was to share with the world some of the highlights
of, and web links to, the entire St. John experience; from
beaching, dining, hiking, shopping and boating, to gorgeous villas, funky inns, quaint
cottages, town centered condos, and beachfront camp sites. This isn't your typical
island, and I've been to over thirty in the Caribbean chain. There's
something magical and special about its feel, the people, the national park beaches, its
unspoiled nature, and the entire experience here. To help you and yours make the most out of the time on the island, my team and I have met with local business owners and created a great way to see these highlights while saving a healthy dollar doing so. Our flagship program started only this spring, and allows anyone visiting or vacationing on St. John to purchase an exclusive "Discount Card" providing 10% savings at many Best of the Best companies, and 5% at many Best of the Best places to stay. The Card is only $19.95 and is good at all the vendors listed on the following page. Included with the Card is a three day itinerary that we find to be one of the best ever. Sample intinerary: Have a great breakfast at Chilly Billy's, pick up some high quality snorkeling gear at Low Key Watersports, hop in your Jeep and head for Salt Pond Bay. On the way, stop at Caneel Resort for a quick walk thru the old ruins and their infamous Equator Room (a beautiful outdoor restaurant overlooking the grounds and Caribbean), pick up some fancy suntan lotion at their gift shop, have a second cup of coffee on their veranda, then head towards Coral Bay. Pick up a few drinks and ice for your cooler at the convenience store just beyond Shipwreck Landing Bar and Grill, then go about 2 more miles and you'll see a little dirt parking area on the left at the start of Salt Pond trail. When you arrive about 5 minutes later, swim out to the far most left point and see huge sea turtles, giant boulders, beautiful Coral heads, and perhaps a Baracuda. This is a peaceful beach, very secluded, with a national park restroom unit. Just behind the beach is a another 5 or 10 minute walk past a salt pond on route to one of the neatest rock/coral beaches you've ever seen. Sit, ponder, have a drink, take in the view, relax, then head back for lunch at Shipwreck or Skinny Legs in Coral Bay. And it just keeps getting better.... Please don't miss out on the crowning jewels of St. John, purchase the Card and start your trip off with a gusto by clicking here. Proceeds allow us to continue hosting the site, develop additional vendors, and promote the finer points of this secluded Virgin Isle to the lucky few who find their way to paradise. We sincerely hope you enjoy your time on St.
John as much as we all have for the past 10 years! It is truly a remarkable
destination. |
